Meet the Artist.

Jessica Raye Howard

Jess R. Howard was born in Gunnison, Coloado, a small ranching based community in Southwestern Colorado. From a young age she spent countless miles in the saddle with her father in the same valley her family homesteaded and the range where they raised beef cattle. At the age of 18 she left the valley to explore the world, leading her to places such as Europe, Argentina, Wyoming, Montana, and Alaska- just to name a few. Each new place she lived the community of people & animals she met has left a lasting impact on her, which can be seen vibrantly in her progression as an artist.

Her handmade mohair cinches and pulled wool pads are an extension of her love and appreciation for the horse and the ways that they have carried with care in her own life.

Currently, she resides near her hometown of Gunnison where she rides for a grazing permit in the summers and in the winter creates as much artwork as she can from her memories spent on the ranges of the world.

You can read about some of her most memorable stories in her blog.
